I gave birth to our sweet little rose from heaven. She has brought so much joy to our lives. Here is our sweet Maria with her Daddy.

Maria Therese-Rose, 4 weeks old. Time has gone by way too fast. We are enjoying every moment with this precious little miracle.

Best Spiced Pumpkin Bread Recipe Thursday, Nov 29 2007

I got this recipe from a friend. We have been making two loaves a day. The kids are devouring it. It’s very easy to make and it comes out very moist.

Ingredients:

3 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 16-ounce can solid pack pumpkin
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts (optional)

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour two 9x5x3-inch loaf pans. Beat sugar and oil in large bowl to blend. Mix in eggs and pumpkin. Sift flour, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, salt and baking powder into another large bowl. Stir into pumpkin mixture in 2 additions. Mix in walnuts, if desired.

Divide batter equally between prepared pans. Bake until tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 1 hour 10 minutes. Transfer to racks and cool 10 minutes. Using sharp knife, cut around edge of loaves. Turn loaves out onto racks and cool completely.

This is what our kids do when they get together with some very dear friends. A trash can, a skateboard from the dump, a bucket and a video camera taped to their helmet is all you need on a warm fall day. The one inside the trash can is one of ours. We’re so proud of him… for wearing a helmet. The ending is the best part…

Garland of Gratitude Tuesday, Nov 20 2007

Crafts and Decorating and Kids' artwork and Real Learning thetuckerbunch 10:24 am

My oldest daughter, Adrianna, decided to get all of the kids together to make some Thanksgiving crafts and decorations for the school room/dining room. She went on Family Fun and found some wonderful activities for Thanksgiving. One of the ones that they did yesterday was the Garland of Gratitude. They put the extra leaves on the window for extra decoration. It looks so nice!

They also made a Sign of Thanks with bark, leaves, twigs, and moss found outside in the woods. Instead of writing "Give Thanks," however, they chose to make an even larger sign by writing out "Happy Thanksgiving."

Later today, they are going to make Village People and Pilgrim Place Cards, as well as Turkey Day Awards, and possibly the Tepee Treats, but it might be best to wait until Thanksgiving Day to make those treats!
