This morning the kids and I went to 7:00 a.m. Mass at our parish. We were surprised to see a large framed  image of Our Lady of Guadalupe off to the left of the Sanctuary.

After Mass we came home and did a little bit of schoolwork, before getting ready for our company. We had three families join us for lunch. There were 18 children in all.

Our Pastor stopped by and joined us for a late lunch and dessert. After dessert, the kids went out to play and we sat down with Father and talked for about an hour. We then called the kids in and Father led us in the Litany of the Blessed Virgin.

Everyone left around 2:30, just in time to get ready to go to the Nursing home to pray the Rosary with the Catholic residents.

Tonight we will read, The Lady of Guadalupe , by Tomie dePaola, and do our Advent devotions, the Advent Wreath and the Jesse Tree. I’m not sure if we’ll have time to work on the lapbook tonight. It’s been a full day already. I’m ready for bed and it’s only 5:30 in the evening. This has been such a wonderful day filled with family and friends.

Everyone brought a dish to share and one of my dear friends even gave me a tablecloth with Our Lady of Guadalupe on it. We had a 7 layer dip with chips, mock non-alcoholic Margaritas,  shredded beef soft and hard tacos and a Mexican flan, which I ended up leaving in the oven a little too long (burned). Here are some pictures from today.

I hope everyone had a blessed day today. Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.
